A Promise Across the Ocean
A Promise Across the Ocean is set against the backdrop of the Chinese Civil War in 1949 in Keelung, Taiwan. The drama follows the arduous journey of Li Wensheng, a father preparing to travel to Singapore to reunite
with his estranged son, Wenjie on his wedding day. As Li packs and reviews documents, memories of Wenjie resurface, which he reflects upon with his wife. Due to limited resources Li has to leave his wife behind in Keelung, carrying with him not just his luggage but the weight of their emotions and hope.
Veer, thank you for such an amazing production and experience for the kids. Anne will always remember this - her first opportunity on stage and in a Chinese play written by a very talented high school student!! You did an excellent job organizing the children and managing through a few hiccups!! Thanks again!!
